Modern life has helped us understand and do so much.
We progressed and probably to be honest, most of us, get our habits and expectations shaped by the virtual world, where things “happen” depending on the capacity of the processors used. All solutions are one Enter away and ,as if by some miracle, the task was solved! Right?
What we do end up facing sooner than later is that not everything works like that. In real life, when you have to solve a task in reality, EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW EXACTLY what steps you have to follow, until you PHYSICALLY complete them you have to practice patience, consistency, clear and critical thinking, to impose limits. And as if that would not be enough, you need to make sure that in the meantime you don’t get distracted, and that’s how – before you gain practice- frustration appears.
I am a planner! I plan so fast and so well that for a long time I convinced myself that the perfect plan gets the job done. Like just by planning! And when it did not, I planned better! Over and over again!
Until I had to be honest and grown up to admit, all the planning in the word will NOT replace DOING! All the KNOWING in the world will not make things happen! The only thing that gets us forward is DOING not planning, no hoping, not even knowing what to do.
Don’t be like me, make sure you check that when you have that task completed mentally you stop and remind yourself : without being physically completed nothing gets actually done! No matter how well you can convince yourself that you know what to do means it is or at least will be done!
Grow some patience and replace I KNOW with I DO!
